José Borrell
JOSÉ BORRELL was born in Alcoi, Alicante in 1969. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Alcoi and later pursued higher education in fine arts in Valencia.
During his professional development as an artist, he achieved his style through an exhaustive doctrine in the practice of portraits instilling his artworks with a strong personality and passion.
He is considered an excellent portrait painter, faithful to the unique light and colors of the Mediterranean.
The portraits of “Falleras Mayores” have brought him national recognition, and other of his artwork is part of the repertory of national and international galleries.
In the past 20 years, his artwork is also part of private collections.
José Borrell has learned the lesson; the figure presides over his work. It is the obstacle and the difficulty, yet the supreme touch.
The explosion of a woman´s beauty, the splendor of maternity, or children captured while playing. A perfect drawing serves as a base, followed by color applied with equity, sets of lights marked by common sense, and beautiful and balanced composition.
In short, a painter filled with passion; and passion is one of his painting themes. Passion for love, desire, and the passion for women.
Since his first major exhibition in Málaga in 2002, Borrell´s commissioned nude art has always been in great demand.
His portraits of people and his muses have made him a very well-known artist.
His exhibitions have toured art galleries located in Alcoi, Gijón, Granada, Valencia, Oviedo, Pamplona, or Málaga (Spain), to cities around the world, such as London (UK), Amsterdam (Holland), Atlanta, Houston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles or New York (U.S.A.).
